Gothic Script, Part 3 - Monoline Variation

In this final class of our Gothic Script series, taught by Chantelle Hoffmann of Bespoke Strokes Calligraphy, we explore what happens when we trade the broad edge pen for a monoline tool. Without the broad edge doing the heavy lifting, the artist must understand the script well enough to construct its character intentionally. The result is its own distinctive variation: still unmistakably Gothic, but lighter and more graphic in quality. We close the class with a circle composition project to begin exploring a bit about layout and composition.

If you missed Parts One and Two, replays are available. While helpful, they are not a prerequisite for this class. No prior experience or special writing instruments needed. Registrants will receive a link to a custom workbook to download and print before the class.
