Casual Uncial, Part 1 - Introduction

This class series, taught by Canadian Penman Mike Ward, of MrMGWard Calligraphy will give you the opportunity to introduce a new style of writing to your repertoire. You will learn to execute a casual variation of Uncial script, with the writing instrument of your choosing. Removing some of the more technical elements of the traditional style will enable it to be used much more freely, giving you the opportunity to spice up your day to day writing, without any extra stress. In Part One, you will review the basic strokes and start putting letters/words together in various sizes, using a variety of pens.

    Mike Ward is a professional Penman, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, who specializes in Ornamental Penmanship and Spencerian Script and is known worldwide for his ornate, balanced designs. Mike has studied under some of the world’s greatest Penmans, including Master Penmen Michael Sull, Harvest Crittenden and Jake Weidmann. In addition to his penmanship practice, he has also pioneered the technique of debossing or foiling calligraphic designs, onto leather items. Mike is a professional artist, dancer and dance instructor. He is passionate about teaching and sharing his love for the process of learning.
